[fun fact, while writing this, I noticed this video has over 3.7 million plays on YouTube]

 I. CONCEPT

When approached to make a simple low-budget video for a remix of Amber DeLaRosa’s “Get to Me,” my initial instinct led me to do a visual remix of the music video Raul Gonzo had already done for the original version of the song.

II. EXECUTION

For this video, I had Raul send me the project file for the original music video which I reimported into Adobe After Effects. I stacked a bunch of native effects found in the program to emulate a vintage, modulated feel that I felt reflected the difference between the remix and the original. This video was pretty simple, but was full of intricate automations and expressions.

III. EPILOGUE

I absolutely adore the original song and music video, so it was an honor to be able to work on the remix. I’ve learned a ton with After Effects over the years, and this project allowed me to highlight a lot of what I’ve learned in regards to motion graphics.
